Jobseekers' Allowance claimant data
Interactive map showing the proportion of the working age population in the West Midlands claiming Jobseekers' Allowance. You can view the claimant rate as a percentage of the working age population at a specific point in time (updated monthly) and the percentage change over the previous year. Maps are available at two geographic levels:
The maps are updated monthly based on the latest labour market statistics published by Office for National Statistics. The interactive maps were created by the West Midlands Regional Observatory using InstantAtlas data visualization software. Features include:
- Dataset behind the map is available to download
- Current visual states of the map and charts within the application can be exported as images
- Background raster map (Ordnance Survey)
- Claimant rates for local authority and ward can be compared to average in West Midlands and average in England
