Mesoproterozoic Diabaig Formation, stable carbon and nitrogen isotopes and metal abundances (NERC grant NE/V010824/1)
Organic carbon and nitrogen and bulk nitrogen isotope data and metal abundance data for siltstones and shales of the Mesoproterozoic Diabaig Formation. For a detailed description and interpretation, see Stüeken, E.E. and Prave, A.R., 2022. Diagenetic nutrient supplies to the Proterozoic biosphere archived in divergent nitrogen isotopic ratios between kerogen and silicate minerals. Geobiology.

Isotopes were measured by EA-IRMS, following decarbonation with HCl and/or removal of silicates with HF. Metals were analysed on dissolved sample aliquots by ICP-OES and ICP-MS. For details, see Stüeken, E.E. and Prave, A.R., 2022. Diagenetic nutrient supplies to the Proterozoic biosphere archived in divergent nitrogen isotopic ratios between kerogen and silicate minerals.
