Air Quality Management Areas
ESBC - AQMA
The Government set air quality standards for the protection of health. Under the Environment Act 1995 East Staffordshire Council is required to designate Air Quality Management Areas (AQMA) where targets for key pollutants are unlikely to be met and devise a plan of action to ensure these targets are met in the future. This AQMA has been declared due to objectives for nitrogen dioxide (NO2 ) not being met.
