The ESM2 profiler was hand deployed with standard sensors for conductivity, temperature, depth, optical backscatter and roll & pitch, and was also fitted with an oxygen optode, sea point fluorometer and Photosynthetically Active Radiation meter (PAR) <span lang="EN-US">...</span> The raw data were stored in the Smartbuoy SQL database. Data are subject to a full quality assurance procedure which assigns flags to poor quality data (e.g. for sensor malfunction, drift). Data was depth binned every 1m between 1 and the max water depth. Salinity corrected for using discrete samples analysed on a Guildline 8410a Portasal.
