Mineral Consultation Areas
Devon Minerals Local Plan 2004 sets out Minerals Consultation Areas. These generally cover mineral development sites such as quarries and mineral transportation / processing infrastructure. Any type of development which is proposed within the Minerals Consultation Areas, the appropriate Planning Authority must consult the Minerals Planning Authority, which is Devon County Council. See policies MP13 and MP14 of the Minerals Local Plan 2004.There are a number of cases where consultation with the Minerals Planning Authority will not be required, due to the limited impact of some types of development and where consultation may have previously occurred (such as sites allocated in Local Plans). Occasions where no consultation is necessary are set out in Appendix A. VII of the Minerals Local Plan.
