Hourly relative humidity data from automatic water monitoring buoy from Blelham Tarn 2012 to 2019

Abstract

Data comprise relative humidity measured at an automatic monitoring buoy located in Blelham Tarn, UK. Data are provided from January 2012 to December 2019. Hourly averages are given, calculated from measurements taken every four minutes. All data is given in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). Lineage

The instrument measures data every 4 minutes and the hourly averages provided in this dataset are calculated by an Oracle database. The average is calculated over the previous hour, e.g. the value for 2 p.m. is the average of the data between 1 and 2 p.m., excluding the data measured at 1 p.m., including the data measured at 2 p.m. Data has been checked visually and any obvious errors introduced by hardware malfunctioning have been removed. Data before and after deployment was removed, along with 30 to 60 min of data immediately after deployment when the sensor settled to the new environment. Hourly data were removed if less than seven measurements were available to calculate the hourly average. Any other data gaps are due to buoy maintenance work or sensor / logger problems.
