Examples of such provision include outdoor sports pitches, tennis courts and bowling greens, golf courses, athletics tracks, playing fields (including school playing fields), and water sports. This dataset is currently under review and its accuracy is subject to the review. Upon accessing this Licensed Data you will be deemed to have accepted the terms of the Public Sector End User Licence - INSPIRE.

In response to Planning Policy Guidance Note 17 on Planning for Open Space, Sport and Recreation (PPG17) in July 2005 the Council commissioned PMP consultants to undertake a local needs assessment and audit. This work was undertaken in accordance with the requirements of PPG17 and it’s Companion Guide. It superseded an open space provision survey in 1994 and was updated in 2008.
