Lineage

Location data and farm ID was taken from the Scottish Shellfish register (http://www.frs-scotland.gov.uk/Delivery/standalone.aspx?contentid=3333), although this does not contain the production information which is provided in the 2008 Scottish Shellfish Production Survey. The NGR were converted into Eastings and Northings, and projected in ArcMap. The coordinates and farm ID were matched to a list of farm IDs supplied by Marlab providing the species grown at each farm. This data was plotted and then a spatial join was performed to aggregate the point data into the 10km squared grid cells. The attribute table was updated to include the total number of farms per 10km squared and also the number of farms growing each species within that cell. If any sensitive species or biotope records are present within this dataset, they will have been removed.
