Lineage

A collection of field notebooks, known as 'Red Logbooks' or 'Scientists Log Book B' used for recording observations from seabed sampling events, such as date, time, sampling gear, sediment type, position, replicate number. For surveys conducted on Cefas vessels such 'Corystes', Cirolana', 'Clione', and charter vessels like 'Tea', 'Prince Madog', 'Mariner'. This subset of the full collection of Cefas logbooks is bar-coded and catalogued on the Cefas Library catalogue 'KOHA'. The use of Red Logbooks by the Benthic Ecology section at Cefas stopped in 2001 and was replaced by a database system known as 'DigiLog'.
