There are 37 sites in the LTMN project, each having 50 permanent vegetation monitoring plots (and 5 permanent soils monitoring plots). For the vegetation plots, the 50 no. 2m x 2m squares are marked with a single point in the south-west corner. These points have been collected using gps, often high-accuracy gps, by the LTMN team and for some sites, contractors employed by LTMN.
