British Geological Survey (BGS) Geophysical and Sampling Survey 1977/JM/2: Northern North Sea (10/Oct/1977 to 20/Oct/1977)
77/JM/02
JM12/77/2
This British Geological Survey (BGS) marine geophysical and sampling survey took place in October 1977 in the Northern North Sea on board the RRS John Murray. This regional geochemistry survey for the analysis of heavy metal content was the second leg of survey JM12/77, see survey 1977/12 for details of Leg 1. Seabed samples and cores were collected using Shipek grab, Gravity corer, and sediment dredge. Seismic data were collected using a pinger. A geochemical eel was also used. These data are archived by BGS. Technical details of the survey are contained in BGS Internal Report 77/15.
