This sampling and geophysical survey has been carried out by Institute of Geological Sciences now British Geological Survey (BGS) for BGS, the survey took place from August to November 1973 in the Firth of Forth; Central North Sea, SE Orkney and Clyde Estuary on board the MV Steelfish. The purpose was to collect data for reconnaissance survey of the British continental shelf to establish a general geological framework. Sample data were collected using sediment gravity corer; Vibrocorer; Sediment or Shell Dredge; Shipek Grab and Photography. These data are archived by BGS. This survey is referenced in IGS report 77/17 and BGS report WB/MI/73/7C.
