British Geological Survey (BGS) Sampling Survey 1973/18: North Sea: Gamma Spectrometer (17/May/1973 to 30/May/1973)
This Institute of Geological Sciences now British Geological Survey (BGS) marine geochemical and sampling survey took place in May 1973 in an area off the north Yorkshire coast aboard the m.v. Observer. This survey was organised by the Geochemical Division using a towed gamma spectrometer, the Marine continental Shelf Unit 1 undertook gravity coring to calibrate the results. Sea-bed samples and cores were collected using gravity corer and shipek grab. The sample data are archived by BGS. No BGS survey report currently available, IGS 1973 annual report contains summary.
