Marine habitat correlation tables version 201801 – spreadsheet version
Two tools have been created to investigate marine habitat correlations: the correlation spreadsheet and the correlation database. These two tools contain the same correlations, and are updated every 1–2 years. Available here is the spreadsheet version. This provides details of the correlations between habitats in the EUNIS marine habitat classification with habitats in the JNCC Marine Habitat Classification for Britain and Ireland and also listed habitats from various other classifications (Habitats Directive Annex I, OSPAR, MCZ habitat FOCI, HPIs, MSFD predominant). These correlation tables use the original habitat definitions from the various classifications and habitat lists, combined with expert judgement and policy needs to determine the relationships between habitats in different classifications/lists. They are updated roughly every 1–2 years in collaboration with all UK statutory nature conservation bodies.
