Tagged Fish Database
Historical fish tagging release and recapture data. Consists of both paper and electronic records, as well as biological material collections (otoliths) from the 1940s onwards. Currently there are over 200,000 release, and a corresponding 50,000 recapture records captured electronically by the Tagged Fish Database. A similar number of records remain undatabased.

The Tagged Fish Database holds release and recapture details for approximately 40 species of, conventionally and electronically tagged, marine fish, with plaice, sole, cod, ray, bass and spurdog being the most frequent. The database contains records of the experiments undertaken and the geographical and biological information recorded at release and subsequent recapture.
