SNPA Conservation Areas
Defined Conservation Areas in Snowdonia National Park, the limit of each Conservation Area is recorded as a polygon. Conservation Areas are areas of special architectural or historic interest. Local planning authorities have a statutory duty to identify and designate such areas, and to preserve and enhance the areas while undertaking planning duties. They have special protection in planning law that controls the demolition of unlisted buildings and works to trees, restricts permitted development rights on dwelling houses, and tightens the regulations on advertising.
