The data is based on a number of sources including the University of Bristol, University of the West of England, Bristol City Council planning monitoring data and web research. The map shows all forms of residential accommodation built or converted for use by students. The map also shows sites with planning permission for student accommodation and sites with a planning application for student accommodation but where permission has not yet been granted.
