FCO Cartographic and Map Section numerous maps 2186 295.11 A substantial eclectic collection comprising primarily of geographic maps typically with political, economic or strategic emphasis that are mostly printed on translucent paper from A4 up to approximately A0+ in paper size, with diagrams and building floor plans, all mostly in black and white with the exceptional item in colour. Earlier 1970s maps in this collection appear to have been produced by or commissioned for the FCO Research Department, maps have been numbered up as pieces 1051 to 1922 (pieces 1-1050 were destroyed); the Julian Walker Collection has also been listed, and a detailed workbook of maps is attached. All the loose material in this collection has been individually indexed commencing with the references FCO 18 / 1172 and run sequentially through to FCO 18/1869. There is also an additional large tied bundle of translucent maps printed on A0+ sized paper 175 Loose printed maps plus one large tied bundle (A0+ paper size) 1941 - 1991 Special collection
FCO maps and plans: numerous 96 12.96 A varied assortment of maps and plans, predominately copies of Ordnance Survey maps annotated to highlight various features most notably wireless stations and masts. There is a small collection of mapping produced by the Directorate of Overseas Surveys (DOS) depicting various countries. The maps are generally acetates, with smaller quantities of paper, bromide, dyeline and impregnated paper 1 acetate Ordnance Survey 1-inch map, sheet 146, revised 1965-66 and annotated to show positions of wireless telegraph stations;
