Deep pool with overhangs and medium mobile boulders, most areas shallow with occasional Mytilus shells. Turf of green algae with Sargassum muticum and Gelidium spp. and abundant Mytilus edulis in fissures. Medium boulders rounded with no sessile fauna. |

Rugged, steeply sloping bedrock dominated by Corallinaceae, Patella ulyssiponensis, with patches of Mytilus edulis spat. Few red algae on upper surfaces. Typically Chondrus crispus, Mastocarpus stellatus, Lomentaria spp.. Laminaria digitata with L.hypoborea in the sublittoral fringe. Abundant Urticina felina in pools, with shaded faces and overhangs possessing various sponges, hydroids and other red algae. Tide swept regions more abundant in particulate feeders including Corynactis viridis, Caryophyllia smithii and Actinothoe sphyrodeta. |
