Summary

Lancashire Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) This dataset contains spatial layers associated with the Lancashire Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS), published in January 2026. These layers were developed collaboratively through a local partnership, following statutory guidance from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The dataset includes:

  • Areas of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (APIB), including nationally and locally designated conservation sites, irreplaceable habitats, and other ecologically significant locations.

  • Potential Measures where practical actions if undertaken would achieve the most for biodiversity and the wider environment.

  • Areas that Could Become of Particular Importance for Biodiversity (ACBs), such as ecological corridors and stepping-stones that support nature recovery.

Together, these spatial layers represent a strategic vision for enhancing and connecting habitats across Lancashire to support biodiversity and wider environmental objectives.
