This folder contains microprobe data from four thin sections through late Ediacaran fossil-bearing bedding planes from Newfoundland, Canada, alongside one publication (Liu, 2016) arising from these data. Sub-folders are arranged by thin section, and are accompanied by images of the experimental mount (showing the thin sections themselves); data files; details of standards counts; configuration settings; and project files (in Microsoft Access Database format). Each folder contains quantitative and oxide percentage maps, each calculated by both elemental and stoichiometric methods, as well as GRD files of point analyses and chemical maps, and in several cases, an 8 or 9 phase map of a small portion of the thin section. These are all labelled and catalogued appropriately. The thin sections derive from sedimentary samples that were collected prior to the start of this IRF, and which reside in the collections of the University of Cambridge Department of Earth Sciences. The folders/surfaces investigated, and the current location of the thin sections, is listed below: Folder name Thin section studied Geological information Current location in Cambridge Earth Sciences, office N321 BR5 crust N13-BR5 Briscal Fm, MPER Slide drawer NL13 LC6 N14-LC6-1 Trepassey Fm, Little Catalina Slide drawer NL14 MP E 3309-9 Mistaken Point Fm, MPER Slide drawer NL11.2 MUN N12-PU10-1 Trepassey Fm, Burnt Point, Port Union Slide drawer NL12.1 For more information, please see; http://dx.doi.org/10.2110/palo.2015.095
