Summary

Brownfield sites are any previously developed land that is not currently in use that has the potential for being redeveloped. It is often (but not always) land that has been used for industrial and commercial purposes and is now derelict. The land may have the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant.
