This data set has been produced from details submitted to Natural England in licence returns associated with Science & Conservation/Research licences and Class Survey Licences. The data set includes records for a wide range of species, including European Protected Species. Licence holders are required to provide data on where, when and how they used their licence at the end of the licence period, so these licence returns can be used to derive information on species presence and in some instances on abundance.
