The aim of the National Bowel Cancer Audit (NBOCA) is to measure the quality and outcomes of care for patients diagnosed for the first time with bowel cancer in NHS hospitals in England and Wales, and so support colorectal units in the UK to improve the quality of the care received by patients.
The National Bowel Cancer Audit (NBOCA), is commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) as part of the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP). It is a collaboration between the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI), NHS England, and the National Cancer Audit Collaborating Centre at the Clinical Effectiveness Unit of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
The NBOCA data file contains the results published within the State of the Nation Report for English NHS trusts and Welsh MDTs published in February 2024. The organisational figures are based on data from patients diagnosed with Colorectal (Bowel) Cancer up to 31 March 2022.
The data file contains information on: • Audit participation by NHS Trust and data completeness for the key fields. • Measures about the process of care given to patients. • Information about care outcomes and treatment.
These data file does not contain individual patient information, nor do they contain any patient identifiable data.
