Local Green Spaces are designated through local and neighbourhood plans, in accordance with paragraphs 101-103 of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). They are local areas of particular importance to communities (due to considerations such as beauty, historic significance, recreational value, tranquillity or wildlife) and they have a high level of protection against development.
