The Greetland and Stainland ward is semi-rural, from its southern boundary by the M62 motorway to the Calder Valley and the edge of Halifax. The main settlements are Greetland, Stainland, Holywell Green, Norland, Sowood, and West Vale. Much of the ward is open countryside with scattered farms, and a small amount of industry in the valleys. There is a good network of road, plus easy access to the M62.

The information on this ward data page is based on ward boundaries that predate these elections. The Office for National Statistics is due to publish 2026 ward boundary information in June / July 2026.
