Summary

This is a dataset of the London Borough of Barnet's Brownfield Land Register The Housing and Planning Act 2016 introduced a requirement for local planning authorities to produce a register of previously developed (brownfield) land. The Town and Country Planning (Brownfield Land Register) Regulations 2017 require local planning authorities to maintain a register of their brownfield sites that are suitable for housing. The Council published the first Barnet Brownfield Land Register in December 2017. Regulations stipulate that local planning authorities review their registers at least once a year. Under Item 7 the latest update to the Brownfield Land Register 2024 was approved Agenda for Strategic Planning Committee on Wednesday 23rd April, 2025, 7.00 pm Part 1 lists brownfield land sites of at least 0.25ha or capable of providing 5 or more dwellings that are considered suitable for housing led development. Sites listed in Part 2 of the register will have been granted Permission in Principle. Local Planning Authorities are required to review registers at least once a year.
