Summary

The Thames Estuary is divided into 23 geographical areas, known as the Policy Units. Each Policy Unit has been assessed to determine the appropriate level of flood risk management. This is the strategic flood risk management approach for the Thames estuary. The policies direct the implementation of actions and future flood management investment, and they provide a common foundation from which all partners can plan their short, medium, and long-term activities. As the climate changes, we will all need to change how we manage and live with flood risk. Attribution statement: © Environment Agency copyright and/or database right 2023. All rights reserved.
