The coal mining legal notice dataset details each notice issued to allow coal mining operations in areas where no mining lease was in existence, as taken from the information held by the Coal Authority. It includes the location and a number of attributes relating to that feature.
In November 2024, the Coal Authority changed its name to the Mining Remediation Authority to better reflect its mission and continued commitment to environmental sustainability, safety, and community support.
