Summary

The Abstraction Licensing Strategy Boundaries are an external reference dataset giving an indication of where technical assessments have been undertaken. The technical assessment helps identify where water may be available for future use but also where water resource demands may be impacting the water balance. There are sometimes more than one technical assessment boundaries within an abstraction licensing strategy boundary. The abstraction licensing strategy boundaries should be used on a national England scale, they are not suitable for detailed technical assessments.
