In 2021, in the midst of a pandemic, which had profound and often tragic impact on the lives of Londoners, the Greater London Authority (GLA), launched Good Work for All (GWfA) programme to prioritise training, education, and employability support that enabled Londoners to gain relevant skills, retrain, and move into good work in sectors key to London’s recovery.
The GLA have completed a deep dive of GWfA, which highlights the following:
- Learner Participation: This programme benefited more than 20,000 Londoners, who studied more than 27,000 learning aims.
- Increased Job Quality: 53% of enrolments were in priority sectors with long-term economic growth and job creation potential. 49% of learners had a positive economic outcome.
- Skills Development: The programme has successfully upskilled many individuals, enhancing their employability and opening doors to new career opportunities.
Diverse Representation: Our efforts to promote diversity in hiring practices have led to a more inclusive workforce, reflecting the communities we serve. In 2022/23, 64% of GWfA learners were from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background.
