Office for National Statistics (ONS) Population Estimates by district, ward, parish, neighbourhood plan area, MSOA (Medium layer super output area) , LSOA (Lower layer super output area), age and gender.
Population estimates are usually published at local authority level in the summer and at small area level in the autumn or winter. The latest published are:
Local authority level for 2025: 29 July 2026.
Small area level for 2024: 7 November 2025.

Small area level for 2025: Autumn 2026.
New ward information 2026: There were local (district) elections on 7 May 2026 for new wards following a Local Government Boundary Commission review. The ward information included in reports below is based on ward boundaries that predate these elections. The Office for National Statistics is due to publish 2026 ward boundary information in June / July 2026. Once that has been published ward information in the reports below will be updated.
