In April 2017, the Government published regulations requiring Local Planning Authorities to prepare and publish a Brownfield Land Register by 31 December 2017 and keep it up to date annually. The Register will provide publicly available information on previously developed (brownfield) sites in Middlesbrough which offer realistic potential for housing development. Brownfield land is land that has been previously developed. It can include land with buildings as well as cleared sites.
The Brownfield Register comprises a spreadsheet completed in accordance with the government's published Data Standard, this is accompanied by mapping information.
