National rail statistics Estimates of station usage figures are derived from ticket sales data recorded in rail industry systems. Eurostar and Heathrow Express are not included in rail industry systems. Travel using Oyster pay-as-you-go has been included from January 2010. Previously, Oyster pay-as-you-go journeys were not included in Station Usage figures. Station usage data is collated by Steer and consists of estimates of the total numbers of people entering, exiting and interchanging at stations.
