Scottish Local Authorities are the regulators for the Scottish Legislation pertaining to Private Water Supplies for human consumption. The main objective of the Scottish Private Water Regulations is to ensure the quality and quantity of clean, safe drinking water used by those using private water supplies which is not provided by Scottish Water. This dataset is the location of addresses which are supplier properties of Private Water Supplies. There are likely to be private water supplies that the council has not been notified of and so are not yet recorded in this dataset but they will be added when the council is made aware of them.
