Ascophyllum nodosum and Fucus vesiculosis locally distributed. Shore dominated by barnacle/limpet community with Balanus balanoides and Patella vulgata particularly abundant. Chthamalus stellatus present, locally distributed, as is Mytilus edulis. Fauna suggesting stable, finer substrate present - Arenicola marina, Talitrus saltator, Orchestia gammarella. Bedrock and boulders substrate supports considerable beds of Fucus ceranoides with Ulva lactuca and Cladophora rupestris in localised distributions. Extensive beds of Ascophyllum nodosum with abundant Ascophyllum nodosum f. mackii found beneath their fronds. Gravel principle substrate supporting abundant Gammerus spp., Echinogammerus spp. as well as other crustaceans - Talitrus saltator, Orchestia gammarella. Localised admixtures of sand and/or mud support Corophium volutator and Arenicola marina. Euryhaline species such as Jaera albifrons and Procerodes littoralis present. Littorina saxatilis dominant. Dominant Verrucaria maura, other lichens present in low abundances. Pelvetia canaliculata, Fucus serratus, Fucus vesiculosis, all abundant, however Ascophyllum nodosum dominates. No Fucus spiralis. Balanus balanoides locally present with some Patella vulgata and Mytilus edulis. Laminara digitata, Laminara hyperborea and Laminara saccharina abundant in sub-littoral with Lithothamnion spp. Gammerus spp. abundant with other crustacea present indicating stable gravel/sand substrate -Talitrus saltator, Orchestia gammarella.
