Foliose red algae frequent, but not alive. Sabella frequent in patches. Dendrodoa common on shells and cobbles. Galathea squamifera amongst shells and boulders. Enteromorpha was abundant covering most of the area. Corophium was evident on the mud surface plus Arenicola casts (common). Large proportion of Cerastoderma shells lying on surface. Brown (Ectocarpoid) alga occasionally present. Fucus serratus was rare. Prawns in saline pool outflow were Palaemon adspersus (a relatively new species), frequent.
