Summary
The Back in Business support scheme was relaunched by the Department of Finance on 15th May 2024 and is administered by Land and Property Services (LPS).
To be eligible, the business ratepayer must move into premises on or after the 1st April 2024, which were previously used for retail purposes and have been unoccupied for 12 months or more. Eligible business ratepayers will receive a 50% rate reduction for up to two years from the date they occupy the premises. LPS holds details on how many applications have been received, business ratepayers that have benefitted from the scheme and amount awarded.
The information provided in the tables is updated quarterly and data is provided at 31st March, 30th June, 30th September and 31st December. Data on applications and awards is presented by District Council however, due to potential disclosure, data on amount awarded is presented at Northern Ireland level.
