Large brown algae with coralline algae understory. Himanthalia elongata, Laminaria digitata with Corallinaceae and Corallina officinalis. Pterosiphonia complanata abundant. Patella ulyssiponensis common with attatched filamentous reds including Gastroclonium ovatum, Gelidium pussilum and Ceramium spp. Isopods and amphipods were common amongst the algae as were Mytilus edulid spat.

Littorinids and Verruca maura sparse in the littoral fringe. Biota also sparse on the smooth Enteromorpha spp. dominated boulders with the greatest diversity occuring in damp areas.(Sub-habitat of 618.002.004)

Rhodophycota. Littorina saxatilis and Littorina neritoides common in crevices. Rockmills had frequent Lipophrys pholis with a turf of closely cropped green algae and occasional kelp.
