This dataset is a subset of the "WFD Classification Status Cycle 2" dataset and contains summary data for the element morphology as used in the classification for Ecological status for the water framework directive (WFD). Morphology classifications are assessed and reported on a High, Supports Good or Does Not Support Good basis. Water bodies will only be classified as High if they have morphological conditions that reflect totally, or nearly totally undisturbed conditions. These conditions include continuity, width and depth, structure and substrate of river bed and structure of the riparian zone for rivers; depth, quantity, structure and substrate of lake bed and structure of lake shore for lakes and depth, quantity structure and substrate of bed, structure of intertidal zone and wave exposure for estuaries and coasts and direction of dominant currents for coast only.
