Summary

The coast from North Berwick in Lothian to Flamborough Head in the East Riding of Yorkshire has been studied as part of the Marine Nature Conservation Review programme (MNCR Sector 5). This included field surveys of the shores and nearshore subtidal zone to describe biotopes. Comparable data from other organisations have been added to provide information on over 1000 sites within the region and analysed to classify the biotopes present. The information available for MNCR Sector 5 is presented as 24 area summaries.
