Summary

This dataset consists of a polygon file defining the limits of 56 named bays, estuaries, firths, sounds and lochs in the UK. For example, "Cardigan Bay", "Plymouth Sound", "Firth of Forth" and "Lough Foyle". The polygon file can be used in conjunction with GIS dataset SeaVoX regional seas around the UK. These data are included in the merged dataset 'MEDIN Gazetteer of Marine Points of Interest'.
