This dataset consists of hydrologically defined sections (polygons) for the
whole of Great Britain including river channels and coastal areas up to the
mean high water line for England and Wales. Each section has the following
attributes:
- The devolved administration(s) the section is within
- The area of the section that is contained within the devolved
administration(s)
- The regional administration (from the Ordnance Survey Boundary Line) that
the majority of the section is within
- The river catchment that the section is within. These are the existing
Fish Health Inspectorate (FHI) catchment boundaries, new England and Wales
catchments to ensure complete coverage of England and Wales, and the
Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) catchments.
- The waterbody river basin district ID and waterbody ID for England and
Wales from the Water Framework Directive.
There are 2 versions of this dataset; this one in a geographical coordinate
reference system (CRS) (EPSG 4236 - WGS84) and the dataset in a projected CRS
