Two folders of images, one covering field localities visited during a two week trip with a team from SAM, and the other containing images taken during a museum collection visit funded by this IRF, along with one publication (Hoekzema et al., 2017) that include images and data arising from this visit. Data result from NERC grant NE/L011409/2 Constraining the origins of the Metazoa: Insights from ichnology, palaeoecology and taphonomy. Photographs document late Ediacaran fossil specimens within the collections of the South Australia Museum, and at field localities. The museum specimens folder is arranged by taxon. Taxa include Arborea, Aulozoon, Coronacollina, Eoandromeda, Parvancorina, Phylozoon, Dickinsonia, Funisia, Ovatoscutum, Yorgia, discoidal specimens, tubular specimens, frondose specimens and algal taxa, as well as images taken in the public gallery. Photographs are arranged such that the labels with locality information, identification, and accession number of individual specimens precede images of those specimens. The field photographs folder is sub-divided into images taken at three different sites: Ediacara Conservation Park; Crisp Gorge; and Brachina Gorge. Photographs were taken to document fossil specimens, field localities, and sedimentary structures. These images will be useful to geoscientists with an interest in Ediacaran macropalaeontology.
