Summary

Analysis of bovine tuberculosis (bTB) genotype frequency (spoligotype and VNTR type) collated in isolates from the spoligotype database for 2006. The purpose of this collection was to generate a collection of isolates that represented the diversity of major genotypes in GB. The International Nomenclature for each spoligotype given by www.Mbovis.org (SBXXX), the VLA spoligotype and 6 locus VNTR call (e.g 17:7-5-5-5*-3-3.1), the raw frequency and percentage of the total for each genotype, the translated genotype name (ie 17:a, see APHA0126) as well as the identification code (AF number such as 61/0359/01) is shown. Subsequently, the representative isolates in the collection were analysed for the presence/absence of specific chromosomal deletions (RDX) that are used to identify sub-lineages of M. bovis.
