Young fucoids and red algae were predominant, with Balanus balanoides, Patella vulgata and some sponges in damper areas. Mytilus edulis were smaller here than those found higher up the shore. Rock pool species included Hyale nilssoni, Apherusa jurinei and Celleporina hassali.
