HSE’s consultation zones assist HSE in its role as a statutory consultee for planning applications around major hazard sites and major accident hazard pipelines.
HSE uses the consultation zones to provide formal advice to planning authorities when developments are proposed close to sites or pipelines that might lead to an increased population around the major hazard.
