Summary

Darwin Plus Project 053 http://www.darwininitiative.org.uk/documents/DPLUS053/24132/DPLUS053%20AR1%20-%20edited.pdf

The dataset is under Embargo until data analysis has been completed and ready to be published as Open Data.

In 2016, 100 northern Rockhopper penguin nests were marked in the main colony on Nightingale Island (37.254°S, 12.2832°W) and an additional 50 nests in a small satellite colony (37.252°S, 12.2833°W). Nests were followed from egg-laying to the crèching stage to monitor breeding success and to investigate the impact of colony size as one of the possible drivers of breeding success. Data were collected as part of the Darwin Plus funded Project Pinnamin, 2016 – 2018, a joint multi-institutional and interdisciplinary collaboration between the RSPB, Tristan da Cunha government, British Antarctic Survey (BAS), Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) and the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) in South Africa.
