This survey was carried out as part of the International Council for the
Exploration of the Sea (ICES) coordinated herring larvae survey of ICES Region
IVb during the two standard sampling periods in October. The aims were to
examine the drift, growth and mortality of herring larvae, as well as the
vertical distribution of herring larvae in relation to water masses and
movement. Plankton samples were collected at each site on the survey grid.
This data consists of the numbers of larvae, along with associated positional
data and volumes filtered.
