This project is led by SeaScope Fisheries Research Limited, in collaboration with Marine Scotland Science, University of Glasgow and Fruits of the Sea and aims to improve data and inform fishery scientists/managers with updated information on Solway cockles. The main objectives are to undertake two full stock surveys and stock assessments of cockle beds around the Solway (2023 and 2024) and to conduct relaying experiments.
